Mommy told me
that I never crawled,
that one day I just got up
and started walking,
that I spit up the formula
doctors gave
and would only take breast milk.
She told me that the sun would find me
even in the shady places
where she pushed my carriage through the Garden
and that as a child
when I would put my hands of her face
she experienced a deep and lasting contentment,
something like peace.
