Inside every girl is a beast,
A beast that in white men is set loose
And never ceased,
A beast that in black men is
Terrorized and mercilessly beat
A beast that in black women
Is raped and tortured and reaped,
But inside every girl is a beast
A beast that is wild,
beautiful and nurturing
When unleashed,
A beast with sharpest weapons of defense to say the least
A beast
best understood
by maturity,
Who will rise to meet her
and ruthlessly defeat
Those who stand between spirit
And the divine right
To freedom and release.
